NWDD offers a variety of "themes" for summer camps in order to provide additional benefits. All the themes are related to double dutch and offer one or more final projects that are, of course, based on double dutch!

The Science of Double Dutch: Learn how exercise effects our bodies, what it would be like to jump on other planets and how velocity, momentum and gravity affect the sport. We will perform fun experiments and document our results. In addition to the final performance, students will show their final results from the experiments and tests in the form of lab reports. All projects, experiments and activities will be based on double dutch! Supply fee: $30

Reading, Writing & Dutch: Read a 150 page book about a group of friends who start a double dutch team and head to NYC for the annual competition. We will read the book, discuss it and write our own essays to be submitted to a national competition. At the the final performance on Friday, students will share their essays and show-off their double dutch skills. Supply fee: $10

Digital Double Dutch: Learn how to confidently operate digital cameras! We will go over photographic techniques, history, basic photoshop manipulation and finally printing/saving to a portable medium. In addition to the final performance/double dutch routine, students will show their favorite photos from the week. The subject of all the photos will be double dutch! Final projects include: photographic enlargements, flip books and 3D photos. Supply Fee: $50

The Art of Double Dutch: Try a different artistic medium and style every day. We will go over art techniques, styles & genres and we will have critiques of eachothers work. In addition to the final performance/double dutch routine, students will show their favorite works of art from the week on Friday afternoon. The subject of all artwork will be double dutch! $30

"Theatrical Double Dutch : Study the music, the dancing and the costumes of current popular musical movies. We will design promotional materials (flyers & posters), creat props, and costumes for our own performance at the end of the week. The final project will be a performance The recording will be sent home after the camp and/or posted online. Supply Fee: $30
